April in Seattle: The Local Events Worth Showing Up For
April's calendar is doing the most. The tulips are up in the Skagit Valley, the farmers' markets are getting louder, and the group chats are waking back up.
This month there's a lot to work with: a lamb butchery class on a working farm, an oyster festival worth blocking out a full weekend for, tea tastings, a thrift market at a Belltown gallery, a Selena-themed rooftop night, and a salt bread pop-up worth tracking down.
If you're only leaving the house for things worth it, here's where to start.
Farm, Field & Fresh Air
April 4th, 2026 • 4–7pm
Carnation Farms
Ever wanted to actually understand where your food comes from, start to finish?
This hands-on workshop at Carnation Farms walks you through whole-animal lamb butchery with the farm team, then has you shaping and seasoning your own kabobs before heading to the grill. It's equal parts informative and genuinely fun - you leave knowing something real, and dinner is included. About an hour east of Seattle, so factor in the drive.
April 18–19, 2026
Hama Hama Oyster Farm, Hood Canal
This one's a full weekend commitment, and a good one.
The Hama Hama Oyster Rama is an annual celebration held right on the farm at Hood Canal - guests can explore the beach, harvest oysters and clams with the farmers, and get walked through the intertidal ecosystem by marine scientists. Up on shore there's live music, food and drink, kids' activities, and the Shuckathalon: a competitive oyster-shucking event that's as fun to watch as it is to enter.
It's the kind of thing you bring people from out of town for. Tickets and more info at hamahamaoysters.com.
Sip & Steep
April 4th, 2026 • 11am–3pm
Vale Matcha & Coffee, South Lake Union
Two great things in one afternoon at Vale's South Lake Union café.
Vale is hosting a pop-up featuring curated pieces from four local creators' closets alongside their new Spring Collection launch - with $2 off those drinks all afternoon. Low-pressure browsing with good matcha, and a solid way to find something new without the big-market energy.
April 11th, 2026 • 11am–5pm
Forest Park, Everett, WA
If your relationship with tea goes beyond the grocery store shelf, this one's worth the drive.
The fifth annual Cascadia Tea Festival takes over Forest Park's Floral and Lions Halls in Everett - about 30 minutes north of the city. Free to attend (pay-what-you-will), with vendors, informal tasting sessions, and workshops running across the day. Bring your own cup and a snack - there are treats from La Liath Bakery on site, but it's worth packing some food too.
Grab your tickets in advance to guarantee entry.
Art, Makers & Markets
April 2nd, 2026 • From 5pm
Asylum Collective, 108 S Jackson St, Pioneer Square
Pioneer Square's First Thursday Art Walk is free, self-guided, and worth making a regular thing.
Asylum Collective opens up for the evening with local artist work on the walls, a free open figure workshop (oils, acrylics, and charcoal all provided), and a swap meet where vinyl, art, and clothing change hands on a sliding scale.
All ages, no dress code, no RSVP needed. Free parking is available through the Art Walk program at two nearby garages - pick up a voucher at a participating gallery.
April 20th, 2026 • 2-6pm
Slip Belltown
Everything at this market is $10 or under - and they'll tell you themselves the options beat Goodwill.
The Creative Dept is taking over Slip Belltown with a vendor lineup covering thrifted clothing, art, stickers, and jewellery, plus a featured DJ and access to the gallery space. Vendors include Bakescapade, Skin x Stickers, Artsy Ears, and several others worth a browse. Free entry.
April 17–19, 2026
La Conner, Skagit Valley
The Skagit Valley Tulip Festival is one of those PNW events that actually delivers.
The Street Fair in La Conner runs across the weekend with local vendors, food, and the valley in full bloom as a backdrop. If you haven't made the drive up to see the fields, this is the most obvious reason to do it.
We’d recommend going earlier in the day if you can - the roads and the fields are both better before the afternoon crowds arrive.
April 4th, 2026 • 11am–4pm
Japantown, Seattle / Kobe Terrace Park
Japantown Seattle is marking cherry blossom season properly.
Sakura Matsuri brings together 12+ small businesses and pop-ups across the neighbourhood offering sakura specials, food, springtime items, music, giveaways, and crafts. After browsing, head to Kobe Terrace Park for hanami - the Japanese tradition of gathering under the blooming trees for picnics and good company.
Follow Japantown Seattle for the full vendor and pop-up lineup as it's announced closer to the date!
Sweet Things & Pop-ups
April 5th, 2026 • 2pm until sold out

Yumi's Desserts is a Seattle salt bread pop-up that sells out fast - plan accordingly.
On April 5th they're at Joie Coffee in the U District, with a lineup of crowd-favourite flavours including Classic, Dubai Chocolate Strawberry, Banana Matcha Crème Brûlée, and Korean Garlic Corn Cheese. Joie's floral matchas and specialty drinks make for a solid pairing. First come first served, limit two per person, cash or Venmo accepted.
