The Works Seattle: Popular Creative Workshops in Ballard
Looking for a creative escape in Seattle? The Works has become the city’s go-to destination for hands-on classes in crafting, food, and botanicals. This vibrant studio offers adults a much-needed space to unwind, connect, and explore their creativity in Ballard.
Tucked away into Seattle’s vibrant waterfront neighborhood of Ballard, The Works has quickly become one of the city’s most popular creative spaces. This woman-owned studio, founded and run by Kellie Phelan and her sensational team of instructors, provides a diverse array of hands-on classes ranging from food, plants, needlework, and just about any arts and crafts you can think of!
The Founder’s Story
With the woods of New Hampshire as her childhood stomping grounds, Kellie developed an appreciation for the natural world and our connection to it. She spent the first decade of her career working in environmental consulting. Now, she seeks to change the world on a much more local level - by building community, connecting over passions, and sharing creative skills to those looking for meaningful experiences!
Our favorite classes at The Works
While classes do sell out quickly, the Pao App team were lucky enough to try a handful of The Works’ workshops including three of our personal favorites: charcuterie board styling, wreath making and floral arranging.

Flower Aranging
Discover florist techniques while creating techniques while creating stunning arrangements with seasonal blooms. You’ll leave with a gorgeous bouquet and skills you can use for years to come!
