Boston’s March Lineup: Sip, Cook, Dance, Repeat

Supporting local should feel this fun!

March in Boston is doing the absolute most… in the best way. We’ve got brewery classrooms, drag brunch debuts, wine dinners that feel like you’re in someone’s (very talented) home, pottery you’ll actually use, and a book fair for grown-ups (yes, really).

As always, we’re spotlighting the small businesses and community-driven spaces that make this city feel alive. No chains. No fluff. Just good recs from your friend who talks to the bartender and the bookstore owner.

Let’s get into it!

Sip & Learn Experiences

March 7th, 2026 • 4pm
Lamplighter Brewing Co

We love a class where the homework is beer. Lamplighter’s monthly “Beer School” gives you a behind-the-scenes look at how this compact Cambridge brewery does its thing. Your ticket includes:

  • One 6 oz welcome beer

  • Three 5 oz samples (plus a bonus pour to start)

  • A 60-minute guided tour

  • A Beer School quiz (yes, really)

  • A Lamplighter diploma

It’s 21+, so bring your ID. If you’ve ever wanted to know what actually separates your favorite IPA from the rest, this is your moment.

March 28th, 2026 • Various times
Boston Harbor Distillery

Barrel-side tasting? Say less.

This sampler experience walks you through BHD’s lineup of spirits while sharing the story behind the distillery and what makes their approach uniquely Boston. It’s the kind of experience where you leave knowing a little more about what’s in your glass - and why it tastes the way it does.

If you’re hosting friends from out of town, this is an easy win. Quintessential Boston energy, minus the tourist trap vibes.

Dinner Is The Event

March 10th, 2026 • 5-8:30pm
Forage

This is the kind of night that reminds you why you love eating out.

Forage’s weekly wine dinners spotlight small-production natural wines, with each week focused on a specific grape, region, or winemaker. Chefs Eric Cooper & Alycia Palame create a four-course, farm-to-table menu designed specifically for that lineup.

It’s thoughtful and seasonal. It’s $125 per person and worth planning ahead for. Dietary restrictions can be accommodated, which we always appreciate!

Themed Nights & Community Vibes

March 7th, 2026 • 12-3pm
Desnuda Cocina & Bar

Desnuda is hosting their iconic drag brunch and we’re already imagining the vibes: day drinking, dancing, interactive performances, and cocktail specials flowing.

A few things to know:

  • Purchase tickets online (reserved seating/general admission)

  • One person from your party should email to reserve a table

  • Tipping performers is customary

  • Photo-ops with the queens happen after the show

It’s a $15 ticket for a whole lot of energy!

March 13th, 2026 • From 8:30-10:30pm
The Haven

A Scottish pub kicking off St. Patrick’s Day week with Irish whisk-E-y? We’re in.

The Haven is hosting a DRAMnight celebrating rich Irish flavors in their cozy, convivial space. Expect smooth pours, a welcoming crowd, and a relaxing atmosphere where chatting with strangers feel easy. Wearing green is encouraged (but not required).

If you like your celebrations a little more intimate and a little less chaotic, this one’s calling your name!

Underground Games Survivor 50 Tour Episode 5: Time Out Market

Creative Nights Out

March 14th, 2026 • 6-8pm
So Sweet Bakery

“DeBÍ TiRAR MáS FOTos” but make it cake.

This Bad Bunny-inspired Cake & Sip blends culture, music, and sweet creativity. Your ticket includes:

  • A take-home cake

  • A Polaroid photo

  • Automatic raffle entry

  • Nonstop energy

It’s open to ages 6+, which makes it a great cross-generational night out. We love when local spots collaborate like this - it’s the kind of creative crossover that keeps neighborhoods interesting.

Ceramic Mug Making Pottery Workshop

March 28th, 2026 • From 12pm-2pm

TravelMug Cafe

This hands-on pottery workshop walks you through pinch pots, coils, and hand-building techniques to create your own clay cup. Your ticket includes:

  • A complimentary drink (wine, beer, mimosas, coffee, or non-alcoholic)

  • 2 hours of guided instruction

  • All materials

  • Firing + glazing for up to 2 pieces (shipped back in 6–8 weeks)

It’s relaxed, beginner-friendly, and the kind of Saturday that feels restorative!

March 7th, 2026 • 1-3pm
The Foundry

We’ll never say no to expanding our recipe rotation… especially when it’s this flavorful. This interactive class teaches you how to make plant-based Haitian dishes including:

  • Haitian Macaroni Au Gratin

  • Diri Djon Djon (Black Mushroom Rice)

  • Fried Plantains

  • Haitian Akra

Whether you’re vegan or just veg-curious, this is a chance to learn something new in a welcoming space. Tickets are limited, so make sure to secure your spot!

Books & Booze (Our Favorite Combo)

March 21st, 2026 • 12-4pm
Short Path Distillery

This one feels very Pao-coded!

Book Ends is popping up at Short Path Distillery in Everett for what they’re calling a book fair for adults - and honestly, we’re obsessed. Short Path has been crafting small-batch spirits since 2015, and their cocktail bar + café setup makes this a full-day kind of hang.

Expect:

  • A curated selection of books for all ages

  • Coffee or cocktails (or both)

  • A full food menu

  • A visit from local author and cocktail expert Brian D. Hoefling

It’s family-friendly, community-driven, and exactly the kind of cross-business collaboration we love to see.

March is proof that Boston doesn’t hibernate, it hosts! From brewery tours to drag brunch, wine dinners to pottery workshops, this city’s small businesses are giving us plenty of reasons to come out of winter hibernation.

If you’re looking for even more gems like these, you know where to find them. The Pao app is full of spots worth your time - shared by people who genuinely want their friends to have a good experience.

Make the plans. Try something new. And we’ll see you on Pao!
